LOS ANGELES, CA – A horrifying domestic violence case has emerged from Los Angeles, with a man now facing the possibility of the death penalty for his alleged crimes. Jacob Allen Wright, 32, is accused of stabbing the mother of his children, Cheri Huss, over 100 times and leaving their children to die in a fire.

   The incident, which took place in March 2020, involved Wright allegedly attacking Huss in their home. After the fatal assault, Wright is believed to have set the house on fire with their two children, aged 3 and 6, still inside. Miraculously, the children managed to escape the flames but sustained severe injuries.

   Wright has been charged with multiple counts of murder, attempted murder, and arson by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole. The decision to pursue the death penalty will be made at a later stage.

   The case has brought the issue of domestic violence into sharp focus, with local advocacy groups calling for increased protection and support for victims.

   Elsewhere, In a chilling sequence of events, a Texas man is alleged to have chased down his ex-girlfriend, struck her with his vehicle while she was on a 911 call, and later disposed of her body, as per local police reports.

   The man at the center of these accusations is 48-year-old Victor Fuentes, who is now facing charges for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Jessica Sanchez. Sanchez was reported missing by her family on June 30, 2021, after she didn’t return from a meeting with Fuentes.

   The Harris County Sheriff’s Office revealed that during Sanchez’s 911 call, a violent altercation could be heard, followed by a loud crash. The call was abruptly cut off, and Sanchez’s phone was later discovered at the alleged crime scene.

   Fuentes was apprehended on July 1, 2021, when surveillance footage revealed him buying cleaning supplies and a shovel. An ensuing investigation revealed a freshly dug grave near Fuentes’ home. The body found in the grave was later identified as Sanchez.

   Fuentes is being held without bail and is due in court on Monday. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty or life imprisonment without parole.
