Compton, CA – Authorities are intensifying efforts in the search for the perpetrator responsible for a deadly shooting at a pool party that resulted in one fatality and five others injured. The incident, which took place on June 7 at a residence near Greenleaf Boulevard and Mayo Street, has left the community in shock.
During the party, attended by approximately 200-300 individuals, chaos erupted as gunfire rang out, causing the revelers to flee in panic. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered Robert Abdelkader III, a 28-year-old business owner who was catering the event, lying near the backyard pool area with fatal gunshot wounds. Tragically, Abdelkader succumbed to his injuries on-site.
In addition to Abdelkader’s senseless death, five other partygoers – two men and three women – sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds and were promptly transported to local hospitals for medical attention. In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement officers descended upon the property, meticulously scouring the premises for any evidence that could shed light on the tragic events.
Detectives working on the case suspect that multiple perpetrators were involved in the shooting and believe that Abdelkader was an unintended victim caught in the crossfire.
