“You’re Not Free If You Can’t Say What You Think. So, I Do. That Makes Some People Mad, But I Try Not To Worry Too Much About What Anyone Thinks Of Me. Except Dogs. I Really Like Dogs.”
– Senator John Kennedy
“Life is Hard, But It is Even Harder When You’re Stupid.”
– Senator John Kennedy
These are two of his quotes and I will add more along the way. The introduction of his book is hilarious. Senator John Neely Kennedy is not only an amazingly, intelligent, and super driven man, He comes from a large family and his siblings are also very successful people. His father instilled a hard working ethic into him at a very young age.
He says this book is about saying the quiet part out loud, and this book is also about his hope that you too will be encouraged to risk saying what you think and making the right people mad. He believes that every advancement in art, science, philosophy, medicine, technology, cooking, and golf happened after someone challenged the rules and said, “There’s a better way.” He believes that his people sent him to Washington to solve problems, Not make new friends. He questions everything, and on both sides of the aisle. Because of this he was warned not to rock the boat, to which he replied “Only dead fish go with the flow.” Senator kennedy also said that most Americans work 40 hours a week and can’t see why Senators can’t. He also believes that Senators should have more latitude to bring a bill to the floor without getting the permission of a Senator “whose first pet was a dinosaur.” (a majority leader or committee chair.)
“You don’t have to be crazy to serve in the Senate;
They will happily train you.”
“You can lead a person to Congress but you can’t
make him think.”
“You can’t make everyone happy unless you are
alcohol.”
Senator Kennedy was once a Democrat but that he was siding more with the Republicans so he decided to change parties. He believes he should vote like he believes his constituents would want him to vote.
Kennedy was a full blown bookworm his whole life so when he got to college, he said “All my life, I’d been waiting for someone to tell me I could read books all day and get away with it. College was good,” and he more than excelled at college.
John Kennedy was not liking that too many of our schools were “Failure Factories.” That’s why he decided to investigate this for himself by substitute teaching. He said it is really hard sometimes but he learned a lot and he still substitutes regularly. To be able to understand exactly what was going on in our schools that’s why he proposed bills in both Louisiana legislature and The United States Congress to require members to substitute teach at least once a year in public schools. (The bill failed but he said he would keep trying.) He also pushed hard and successfully for legislation requiring all Louisiana third graders to be able to read at grade level before moving on. If they can’t, They’re held back, No Exceptions. They will take remedial classes until they can read like other third graders.
“I believe love is the answer, But I also own a
handgun or two just in case.”
Senator John Neely Kenedy and President Donald Trump are good friends. He says they are very different in personality and style, and sometimes disagree but they are alike in that they both believe in limited government and personal responsibility, and that the impossible is often just the untried. They also don’t lose sleep over the approval of their peers, they are more interested in the aspirations of our people. “That’s why they call us crazy, misfits, troublemakers, rebels. That’s Washington-speak ‘you’re not doing it the way we like.’ Our response The way you’ve been doing it sucks.”
“People don’t care about how much you know
until they know how much you care.”
“When the people voted for President Trump, they
didn’t want a saint, they wanted a warrior.”
While riding with President Trump to his debate with Biden, with Jake Tapper and Dana Bash as moderators, President Trump said, “Kennedy, I’ve got to go up against Tapper, Bash and Biden. It’s going to be two and a half against one.” President Trump told Kennedy the story of how once when he was giving a speech at a rally and noticed the crowd wasn’t looking at him, he turned around and Elon Musk was doing jumping jacks, President Trump said, “Man, he’s something.” Too funny.
President Trump called Kennedy while he was running for Senator and asked if he could come to Louisiana to endorse him and do a rally in support of him.
“If you put the Biden administration in charge of
the Sahara Desert, It would run out of sand.”
“To me, Kale tastes like I’d rather be fat.”
IMMIGRATION
Kennedy believes in following the laws already on the books. “You lock your door at night, not because you hate everyone on the outside-but because you love the people on the inside.”
MEDIA
“Most journalists’ today are Democrats.” “Kennedy, Today you’re going to follow Jesus. But by 10:00am, I still want to follow Jesus, But I also want to slap somebody.” Most Americans don’t believe the media anymore because it isn’t news, It’s propaganda, says Kennedy, and that “anonymous sources” are the norm, and they are doing their best to tear apart this country.
CRIME
“In large part, It’s because we stopped backing the blue. We stopped enforcing our laws.” “Stop arresting criminals, stop prosecuting them, stop locking them up, and crime will go up. DUH!” “If you hate cops just because they’re cops, the next time you get in trouble, call a crackhead.”
CHINA
Kennedy reminds us that there are No Civil Rights in China. They also want Russia to run central and eastern Europe, Iran to run the middle east (Not going so well right now), and China will run the Indo-Pacific. They want free rein in Africa, Latin America, the Arctic, and Space. In short they want to replace us.
TRANSGENDER AND WOMENS SPORTS
His Thesis…”The benefit of making transgender athletes feel included does not outweigh the costs that their inclusion imposes on womens sports.” “Boys develop hearts that are 14% larger than girls, lungs are 12% larger allowing for better oxygen intake and bloodflow. This translates directly into an edge in endurance sports. Girls have a wider pelvis which reduces the amount of force they can exert while lifting, Kicking, or pedaling. Boys gain broader shoulders which support greater muscle mass. Men also have denser bones than women, even when they’re the same height.”
Let’s not even get into the lost scholorships in sports that the girls have trained for all their lives or the financial gain potential.
“There’s also the issue of privacy. Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer, said she felt ‘Extreme Discomfort’ having to share a locker room with a nude, biological male. Imagine how it feels for a teenage girl in a junior high locker room. Imagine how helpless her parents feel when they can’t shield her from naked boys without also tanking her shot
at sports.”
RACE
“I don’t care how much you earn, where you live, what you drive, what color you are, whether you’re fat or thin, tall or short, man or women, beautiful or average (like me). To a bear, We all taste like chicken.”
“We don’t need to cancel history. We need to learn from it, and we should not be ashamed of our country. America is not perfect-no country is, but we are good. We’ve made mistakes, but we’ve also made the world better, freer, and more just.”
